Fayette tall fescue demonstrates superior drought tolerance and turf quality under low maintenance management. Fayette has excellent turf quality in all regions and superior
performance at both high and low maintenance levels in NTEP trials. Key to its performance is stress and heat tolerance. Fayette is also ideal for sports fields and parks due to high wear tolerance from its
excellent density and aggressive tillering. Fayette has a very dark green color for excellent performance with reduced nitrogen levels.
Fayette is recommended for permanent turf in full sun to shade in lawns, parks, sports field, sod farms, and golf course roughs. It can be blended with Kentucky bluegrass and other improved turfgrass species
and maintained from 1/2” to 4”. It can be overseeded into zoysia or bermuda grass for a mix of cool and warm season turf to be used in the transition zone around the globe.

CHARACTERISTICS:

USES: Lawns, athletic fields, commercial sites, slopes, parks, reclamation sites. Ideal in sun or shade or
limited water.

IDENTIFICATION: Deep rooted, cool season perennial bunchgrass. Grows from tillers. Leaf blades are
glossy on the underside/serrated on margins. Leaf blades may be wide with rolled vernation (stem),
blades smooth on turf-type, coarse on others.

ESTABLISHMENT: Slow, but not as slow as bluegrass. Needs plentiful water to establish, then very
drought tolerant.
