MANAGEMENT:

Considerations:

Brassica species will terminate with multiple nights in the teens. If any brassicas overwinter, glyphosate and 2,4-D provide adequate control.

Termination:

Where residue management is necessary, SF 121 Brassica Boost will help break down residue quickly because of its low C:N ratio. Radish and Turnips grow best in soils with a pH of 5.5 – 7.5. If grazing or using this mix for forage and soils are low in fertility, applying 20 - 30 units of nitrogen at the time of planting will help increase biomass production.

Masterline
  • Needs to be seeded early summer through early fall.
  • The perfect mix to supplement other cereal grains like winter rye & spring oats.
  • Pairing this mix with other species works great in forage or grazing situations, so together, it provides a rounded diet of protein & digestible fiber
  • Lower seeding rate requirement if planted alone.
  • Tillage Radish®’s deep, penetrating taproot aids in breaking up compaction & improving soil structure.
  • Radishes & turnips, when mixed, provide high biomass potential to help suppress weeds & will scavenge for excess nutrients left in the soil from the previous crop.
